Silver Lake

We spent several Saturday afternoons at Silver Lake the last 2 months. It is one of my favorite places! I love going up there.

First Day of School

Mykelle started 2nd grade in.... ahem ...August.

The night before school started, we had a special little party for her like we've done every year. Instead of her favorite foods though, we had strawberry shortcake. It was so yummy. (If you haven't tried it the Crackle Barrel way, eat it with ice cream and homemade strawberry syrup.)

We gave her a few little presents for school (Notebooks, colored pens etc) She loves writing! She fills up a notebook writing letters and stuff each week!

We then made up a whole bunch of songs about Mykelle and why she was so cool. It was fun! Trey broke out in a solo about his sister and how much he loved her. It was priceless.

Since this picture, she has lost her 2 bottom teeth, and her two front teeth are loose. We better hurry with those family pictures! :)

She is doing great in Reading, and loving her friends she has made! She seems to enjoy her teacher as well.

Our little Artist

Swayzee LOVES coloring with crayons, and markers. Sometimes she forgets if she is supposed to color on paper, or her face. Either way works for her it seems, because she has done this several times!

• My one disappointment is this... Getting to know someone you admire, and finding out they are nothing like the person you thought they were.

I've been gone far too long. Having 4 kids has been busy, and some days even crazy. We are so blessed though, and I am so happy! I promise several posts this week. (Especially for my dear friend, Julie)

My BF and I were talking Sunday about holding our babies a little longer, and enjoy those baby snuggles before they won't want to snuggle anymore, and she asked me if I had heard this country song, and I hadn't, so I looked it up. I cried of course, because I know it will be like this for me when all my babies are grown.

I'm loving every minute of our crazy life!

She just wanted to be left alone!

A little Remodel..

This is Joss's welcome home poster! We made it the Sunday before she was born! Just in time!

Some of our friends were getting rid of their toddler bed, and passed it our way. We had a plastic one, but I really wanted a turquoise one! This one was perfect because it matched the The arches in Swayzee's crib!

I love their room, and it isn't even done yet. I'm making them some cute canvas' for above their beds.

This is the matching bedding I bought for their room too, the crib picture is below, and the bumper isn't on because Swayz already tore the ties off, so I have to sew them back on. It looks really cute though.

I love pillows, so of course the kids rooms have TONS of pillows!

Our remodel was a lot of work that we shoved into 3 weekends! When we remodeled 2 years ago, we never finished our master bedroom or bathroom, and we never got new carpet installed.

We painted our bedroom and bathroom 3 tone, and thank you to our friends The Garns, the paint was done so quickly, and saved Seth so much time. (He was going to spray himself, but the sprayer was broken, so we were going to have to roll everything!)

Seth also built in our headboard, and I LOVE it!!!

I also love our new bathroom! We both stayed up super late nights trying to finish this space. I probably did way more work then I should have been doing, but hey, all is well.

The bathroom needed new tile SO bad! It looks great, and Seth is to thank. These pictures don't do justice for what it really looks like.

AND FINALLY..... NEW CARPET! I seriously almost cried! I was so happy to finally have some dang carpet in the house!

I am so happy with how it all turned out, and am loving our place. We just need to finish up the playroom eventually....unless we decide to build out a bedroom down there.... sigh.

The girl's crib. Joslynn will eventually go in here. But not for awhile. a long while. It is occupied by another baby who i adore!

DIY play kitchen

I purchased an old computer desk at an Estate sale in our neighborhood last week, and handy man Seth is going to turn it into a play kitchen for the girls for Christmas.

We will cut it down to make it the right height, and then add a sink, microwave,stove top, oven, and a little cupboard with some cute little curtains. I'm looking for a separate piece of furniture so we can make a refrigerator like the one pictured below. We'll see.

We will also make a little window.

I'm pretty excited about it!! Below are just a few DIY kitchens that I really like!

She’s precious, and when I say precious, I mean all the synonyms of the word!

Valued. Dear. Loved. Prized. Enjoyed. Cherished. Treasured. Darling.

We love her so dearly!

I’ve made sure to enjoy every minute of her, which is why I am only blogging now! (as I hold her on my chest)

Here is a glimpse into the last 10 days of our lives!

She has the prettiest hands, the cutest nose, and perfect little lips!

I think she looks like Seth in this picture, but she really has a little bit of all of us in her! We see all of our children and parts of us when we look at her!

Trey loves her dearly, and I cannot say that enough! He adores his baby.

August 10th First photo shoot at the hospital. We didn't purchase the pictures this time.

Mykelle is the most helpful daughter. She is always helping me chase around Swayzee, and loves holding Joslynn too!

August 9th @ about 3:45pm I had my routine visit with Dr. Brown, and just had a feeling that today would be the day. I knew I had made progress in a week, and was having lots of contrations.

We had just finished laying the carpet and putting our house back together 2 minutes prior to my appointment @ 2:30.

My mom came over to watch the kids, and to have me help her make some posters, so that part worked out perfectly.

I went into the doctor jokingly and seriously I told him "Today's the day. My house is done. Make it happen"

He responded with "You don't really have a choice! You're dilated to a 5!"

I told him I'd been having contractions, about 8-10 minutes apart all afternoon. He said it was time to go the hospital (just to be monitored, and to see if this was the real deal)

I needed to go home first though, and although he didn't recommend it, I did anyway. On the way home, I called Seth (Who knew right away it was go time) By that point, I realized I hadn't eaten all day, so I asked him to grab me a cherry limeade from Sonic. That's all I wanted.

I of course got stuck in traffic, and was having strong contractions every 2-3 minutes, and was totally freaked out!

Anyone that knows Seth well will understand, that he was home 20 minutes after me, and my contractions just kept coming on strong. He stayed at work "just a little longer" to explain a few things to his staff. lol.

I told him if I had the baby in the car he was dead!!

I cried also because it was all so exciting, and also because it was coming to an end. I was ready, but I wasn't all in the same. But, mostly I was really excited! I really wanted to go into labor on my own, and never thought it would happen 2 weeks early.

We checked right in, and sure enough I was having contractions every few minutes, and was about dilated to a 7, but my cervix wasn't that thinned. (75%. Same as my appointment)

I got my epidural, and it was go time. Well, a few hours later. I thought for sure by 6, but after my epidural, my contractions slowed down. So around 8:15, doc got there and set up. 2 pushes later, little miss Jossy was born!

It was easy. I forgot to hit my epidural button at the end though, and those after birth pains this time around knocked me down! They were so painful I woke in the middle of the night that night bawling wanting my husband to be there with me, and needing some serious pain medicine. They put me on pitocin to help with the bleeding after birth, and ended up taking me off it, because the pain was no joke!

After that, I felt pretty fabulous...... UNTIL my milk came in 3 days later, and I thought my nipples my fall off. I'm so glad I forget how painful the first week of BF is. Man, that is some serious pain for me too.

As of today, I feel amazing! On a high I hope doesn't leave for awhile!

I still yell at my kids, and get annoyed at my hubs, but I'm still so happy!

I had to take a break from visitors though. I wanted to stay in bed with all my kids and do nothing today!

I LOVE every single person that came by to visit, brought gifts, cards, food, and good company!! Thank you so much for being part of my life, and for caring about us!

My parents have helped me so much the past few weeks, and I am so thankful for them!!! My mom takes care of me when I'm in the hospital, and brought me tons of stuff to eat and have for those relaxing two days!
