Easter was a lot of fun this year. We have decided that we (Seth and I) should be way cooler than the Easter bunny, or Santa Claus so we are the ones that filled their baskets this year, and the Easter Bunny just left eggs all over the house.
Because of the importance of having a picture of the Temple in our kid's rooms (talked about @ General Conference), we gave each of our children a picture of the Temple, and also a few other pictures of Jesus with children. On the back, I wrote.....
" Jesus loves you so much, that he died for you!"
They both thought they were so special, and taped them right next to their beds after breakfast.
We also gave them reading books, a few little toys, and I got Seth a bag of coconut eggs. Which were really for me!
Each child had their own color of eggs, and had to find them.
I am so sick of candy at every holiday, so the Easter Bunny gave them money. They LOVE money! They thought it was pretty great.
I feel like my children really understood the true meaning of Easter a lot this year, and really embraced what Jesus Christ did for us all.
Mykelle helped me write her talk for primary on Easter Sunday, and it was so special! She really knew what Easter was about. She read her whole talk by herself, and made me so proud.
(She struggles sometimes with really big words in reading still, but breezed right through the big words when she read her talk. She only practiced it once, so I was impressed. It wasn't a short talk for a 6 year old) Anyway, everyone was complimenting her on how well she did and what a great talk it was, so she felt very special and wanted to read it at the family party Easter Sunday. (Although she only read it to David, Candice, and Naomi)
This picture is out of order, but I thought it was so cute to see Mykelle and Swayzee playing the I-Pads on the couch! Their hair color also looks the same, and for some reason I thought that was cute too.
We always have a Big dinner with Seth's side of the family the day before Easter, and it was raining that day so we had our egg hunt inside. It was a fun none the less, and we enjoyed our time with the family.

I love what you did for easter. We never told sophia that the easter bunny did anything. We took all the credit. When you ask her why we celebrate easter she says "Jesus died but then he came a live again." Then she asked me if we'll be resurected. So cute I love how simple kids minds work.
Looks like a great Easter for you guys. Your kids are so lucky to have amazing parents like you and Seth!
I love your kids! Good ideas for Easter.
